The Supreme Court on Monday terminated the Committee of Administrators (CoA), the panel appointed by the apex court last year to run the All India Football Federation (AIFF), a week after the Federation of International Football (FIFA) suspended the AIFF. The SC added that it hopes the termination of CoA will help facilitate the revocation of FIFA's ban on the AIFF.

Russia detains IS suicide bomber plotting terrorist attack in India
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said that its officers had detained a suicide bomber, a member of the ISIS terrorist group, who was plotting a terrorist attack against one of India's leadership elite, Russian news agency Sputnik reported.

FIFA ban on AIFF: Centre urges Supreme Court to end tenure of CoA
Days after FIF banned AIFF, The Centre urges Supreme Court to end the tenure of Committee of Administrators (CoA) and direct that day-to-day management of AIFF be looked after by the AIFF administration led by the acting Secretary General. The central government has requested the Supreme Court to pass an order to direct the CoA to submit the final draft constitution for the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to the Court by the end of August 23 and that the mandate of the CoA be declared to be over in full from that day.
