Mandate against Nitish Kumar, Bihar will find alternative which will be spontaneous: Manoj Jha
Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha on Sunday said that people's mandate is against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Bihar will find its alternative which will be spontaneous. Speaking to ANI, Jha said, "How can someone become Chief Minister after getting 40 seats? People's mandate is against him, he (Nitish Kumar) is decimated and should decide on it. Bihar will find its alternative, which will be spontaneous. It might take a week, ten days, or a month but it will happen."
"It's an irony how BJP won 74 seats but they do not have a face, they are not even willing to find one. We are also waiting for how this irony unfolds in the future," he added.
Ahead of the NDA's legislature party meeting in Bihar, earlier today Jha said the fate of the leadership in the state will be decided by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and JDU chief Nitish Kumar has no other option but to comply.

NDA meeting underway in presence of Rajnath, Nitish to be declared leader and return as CM
Countdown for the formation of a new government began here on Sunday with a meeting of the NDA underway at the official residence of Nitish Kumar who is set to return as Chief Minister for the fourth consecutive term.
A meeting of the BJP legislature party, which was to precede the one where all constituents of the coalition will declare Kumar as their leader, was deferred as it was to begin at 10 A.M. in presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who has been sent as an observer.
However, Singh arrived at the airport nearly two hours behind schedule and legislators waiting at the Birchand Patel Marg state headquarters were sounded off that they should rush to 1, Anney Marg, the CMs official residence where leaders of the JD(U) headed by Kumar, Jitan Ram Manjhis HAM and Mukesh Sahnis Vikassheel Insaan Party were also present.

Delay in finalising seat sharing hurt 'Mahagathbandhan' in Bihar: Tariq Anwar
Delay in finalising seat sharing for the Bihar election adversely impacted the Mahagathbandhan's poll performance, senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar said on Sunday, asserting that the Congress must learn from it and complete alliance formalities well in advance for upcoming assembly polls.
Anwar, party's general secretary and a veteran leader from Bihar, acknowledged that there were shortcomings due to which the Congress performed worse than other 'Mahagathbandhan' constituents and asserted that the high command was serious about an introspection as well as a thorough analysis of the results.
In an interview with PTI, Anwar said the Bihar poll results were "definitely below" the Congress' expectations and it was a setback to bag only 19 out of the 70 seats it contested.

Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee dies after over-a-month-long battle with multiple ailments
Iconic Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee died on Sunday after over-a-month-long battle with multiple ailments, a statement issued by the hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, said. He was 85. The thespian is survived by wife, son and daughter.
Chatterjee was admitted to the hospital on October 6 after he tested positive for COVID-19. He recovered from the infection, but his condition did not improve as he suffered from multiple ailments, including neurological complications.
"We declare with heavy heart that Shri Soumitra Chattopadhyay breathed his last at 12.15 pm at Belle Vue Clinic today (15 November 2020). We pay our homage to his soul," the hospital said in its statement.

Coronavirus LIVE: Amit Shah to review Covid-19 situation in Delhi
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday will review the situation arising in Delhi in the wake of a spike in the number of coronavirus cases. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendra Jain are expected to attend a meeting with Shah in the evening.

Reliance Industries' retail arm has acquired 96 per cent stake in online furniture retailer Urban Ladder for Rs 182.12 crore.
Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL)...has acquired equity shares of Urban Ladder Home Decor Solutions Private Ltd for a cash consideration of Rs 182.12 crore," Reliance Industries (RIL) said in a late night regulatory filing on Saturday.
The said investment represents 96 per cent holding in the equity share capital of Urban Ladder, it added.

Human rights issue should be raised against Pak for ceasefire violations: BSF
Rajesh Mishra, BSF Inspector General (IG), Kashmir on Sunday said that a lot of harm was inflicted on civilians, including damage to their properties, because of the recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan. While condemning the actions by Islamabad, Mishra said, the issue of human rights violations should be raised against the country.
"Lot of harm was inflicted on civilians including damage to their properties. Issue of human rights violation should be raised," said the BSF IG, on being asked if he has any message for the international community over multiple ceasefire violations by Pakistan on November 13.

Diwali sales at Rs 72,000 crore, amid 'boycott' of Chinese goods
Traders recorded sales of around Rs 72,000 crore this Diwali across major markets in the country, said the Conferderation of All India Traders (CAIT).
According to the traders' body, the business was carried on during this year's Diwali with no Chinese goods on sale amid CAIT's call to boycott Chinese goods.
"As per reports gathered from 20 different cities which are also considered to be the leading distribution centers of India, it is expected that Diwali festive sales generated a turnover of about Rs 72,000 crores and gave China the expected loss of Rs 40,000 crore," it said in a statement.

These remarks come as a joint meeting of the NDA legislature party is scheduled to be held in Patna today, where Nitish Kumar is expected to be elected as the leader. In the recently concluded Assembly polls, the BJP had won 74 seats, JD-U 43, while eight seats were won by two other NDA constituents.
