US court junks Nirav Modi's plea seeking dismissal of fraud allegations
A bankruptcy court in New York has dismissed a petition of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi and his associates, seeking dismissal of fraud allegations against them.
The allegations were made by Richard Levin, the court appointed trustee of three US corporations--Firestar Diamond, Fantasy Inc and A Jaffe--indirectly owned by Nirav Modi previously.
Levin had also sought a minimum compensation of $15 million for harm suffered by the debtors of Modi and his associates Mihir Bhansali and Ajay Gandhi. Read on...

The Gujarat government has given a green signal to the Eid-e-Milad celebrations in the state with certain restrictions in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
A total of 400 people can take part in a procession if it moves within a locality, colony or street and does not go out of that area, the government said.
However, not more than 15 people can gather in the procession if it goes out of the area.

Market update: IRCTC m-cap surpasses Rs 1-trillion; stock zooms 293% in 6 months
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) joined the elite club of companies commanding Rs 1-trillion market capitalization (m-cap) on the BSE, after its share price hit a new high of Rs 6,332.25 in the intra-day trade on Tuesday. The shares rallied nearly 8 per cent today and have zoomed 33 per cent in the past five trading days.
