A bankruptcy court in New York has dismissed a petition made by fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi and his associates to dismiss fraud allegations against them, PTI reported. The allegations were made by the court appointed trustee of three US corporations that were once indirectly owned by Nirav Modi.

70 trains disrupted in three states during farm union's protest on Monday
More than 70 trains were disrupted in Punjab and Haryana on Monday during a nationwide protest by a farmers union to press for the removal of junior home minister Ajay Mishra over the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri district more than two weeks ago. Times of India reported trains services were affected in 184 places in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Nearly 210 trains were hindered across seven zones of the Indian Railways.

IMF warns India on capital flow
The International Monetary Fund has said that any tapering by the US Federal Reserve would lead to some capital flow out of India though the country has enough foreign exchange. The IMF cut India's potential growth rate in the medium term to six per cent from earlier 6.25 per cent, citing the coronavirus’s impact on investments and labour markets. More here

Telecom companies get 10 days to on AGR moratorium
The telecom department has asked Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio to inform the government by October 29 whether they would opt for the four-year moratorium on AGR-related dues, which is part of the relief package approved last month.
