Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be on a day-long visit to Punjab on Thursday during which he will visit religious places along with 117 candidates in an apparent show of strength ahead of Assembly elections that are due next month.

Australia's Woodside Petroleum to exit Myanmar on human rights concerns
Woodside Petroleum Ltd said on Thursday it will exit its Myanmar operations citing deteriorating human rights situation, nearly a year after a coup plunged the Southeast Asian nation into turmoil.
The Australian gas producer will now begin formal procedure to exit the exploration assets it holds with state-owned Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise and other entities including China National Petroleum Corp and Total, among others.

Brazil's Covid-19 cases rise by record 224,567 to over 24.53 mln
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Brazil has increased by record 224,567 to more than 24.53 million within the past 24 hours, the National Ministry of Health said on late Wednesday.
The death toll has risen by 570 to 624,413 people within the same period of time.
Like many other countries, Brazil is currently facing a new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic over the spread of the Omicron strain.

Edible oil major Adani Wilmar will on Thursday hit the capital market to raise up to Rs 3,600 crore through its Initial Public Offer (IPO).
The proceeds of the public issue will be used to fund capital expenditure, reduce debt and for acquisitions as the company seeks to become India's biggest food and FMCG company.
