4.2 magnitude earthquake jolts Kutch in Gujarat; no casualty
An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude hit Gujarat's Kutch district on Monday morning, the Institute of Seismological Research says. There is no report of any loss of life or damage to property.
The earthquake struck at 6.38 am with its epicentre 11 km north-north east of Dudhai village, the Gandhinagar-based ISR said in an update on its website.
It was preceded by a tremor of 3.2 magnitude reported at 5.18 am with its epicentre 23 km east-southeast of Khavda village in the district, the ISR said.
Trinamool Congress releases first list of candidates for Tripura polls
All India Trinamool Congress has released the first list of candidates ahead of the Tripura Assembly elections.
The first list of candidates released on Sunday comprises 22 names. These include Nihar Ranjan Sarkar, who has been given party tickect from Bamutia (SC) seat; Pujan Biswas from Ramnagar Nirmal Majumdar from Majlishpur; Sutapa Ghosh from Kamalasagar; Haradhan Debnath from Bishalgarh; and Joydal Hossain from Boxanagar.
The Trinamool Congress led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that it will contest all the 60 seats of the Tripura Assembly.
