Plea in Bombay HC against V-P, Rijiju for comments on judiciary

A PIL is filed in Bombay HC yesterday by the Bombay Lawyers association against Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for their recent statements on the judiciary.

The petition seeks that the HC restrains them from discharging their official duties and declare that both are disqualified from holding their constitutional posts by showing a lack of faith in the constitution of India through their public conduct and their statements.

Gautam Adani says investors' interest paramount after FPO rollback

The Adani Group on Thursday released a video from its chairman Gautam Adani addressing investors on the withdrawal of the follow-on public offering (FPO). He says for him, the interest of investors is "paramount, and everything else is secondary".
 
"To insulate the investors from potential losses, we have withdrawn the FPO. This decision will not have any impact on our existing operations as well as our future plans... The fundamentals of our company are very strong. Our balance sheet is healthy, and assets robust," her says in a video posted on YouTube.

Odisha Minister died due to cardiogenic shock after being shot: Report

Odisha police Wednesday said that the post-mortem report of the slain health minister Naba Kishore Das suggested that he died due to cardiogenic shock after being shot.

The Odisha police said in a statement, The post-mortem report suggests that the death was caused due to cardiogenic shock as a result of firearm injuries and is homicidal in nature.

The shooter, dismissed additional sub-inspector Gopal Das, has been remanded to four-day police custody and his interrogation is being conducted by the state CID.
