General Bajwa asked me to condemn Russian invasion of Ukraine: PTI chief Imran Khan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa had asked him to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine soon after his return from Moscow, Geo News reported.
Khan was quoted in the repport as saying, "I talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin about procurement of oil at cheaper rates but when I returned to Pakistan, the chief of army staff asked me to condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine." Khan said he advised Bajwa to stay neutral on India.

Anti-terror searches against ISIS sympathisers' across 3 states, says report
Around 60 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are being searched by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a massive crackdown on suspects having links with the banned terror outfit ISIS, sources have said.
Searches are being carried out in connection with last year's blasts in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore and Karnataka's Mangaluru, reports NDTV.

Life Mission project: Kerala CM's former principal secretary M Sivasankar under ED custody
The Enforcement Directorate has taken M Sivasankar, former principal secretary to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, into custody in connection with alleged violation of the Foreign Contribution (Regulations) Act in the Life Mission project.
Sivasankar was being questioned by the central probe agency for the past three days here and he was taken into custody Tuesday night, officials said.

Dutch jets intercept three Russian military planes near Poland
Two Dutch F-35 fighters intercepted a formation of three Russian military aircraft over Poland and escorted them out late Monday, the Netherlands' Defence Ministry said in a statement.
"The then unknown aircraft approached the Polish NATO area of responsibility from Kaliningrad," the ministry said, according to Reuters.

UN chief Guterres calls for action to address root cause of rising seas
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that climate crisis is the root cause of rising seas, and urged the international community to take more concerted action to reduce emissions and ensure climate justice.
"Sea-level rise is not only a threat in itself. It is a threat-multiplier," Guterres told a Security Council debate on "Sea-level Rise: Implications for International Peace and Security", Xinhua news agency reported.

S Korea to take action against officials over N Korean drone infiltrations
South Korea's military has decided to give verbal or written warnings to some 10 uniformed officers in a disciplinary action over a botched operation against North Korean drone infiltrations late last year, informed sources said on Wednesday.
Following the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS)'s inspection into the operation over the December 26 incursions, the military made the decision, which critics said appears too lenient given the possibility that the drones could have been used for spying or lethal operations, Yonhap news agency reported.
