India logs 11,793 fresh Covid cases, 27 deaths in 24 hrs

India on Tuesday reported 11,793 new Covid cases, taking its tally to 43,418,839. With 27 more Covid-related deaths, India's toll reached 525,047. A total of 9,486 people recovered from Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of cured cases to 42,797,092. India's recovery rate now stands at 98.57 per cent while death rate is unchanged at 1.21 per cent.

India on Monday administered 1,921,811 vaccine shots, taking the total count of Covid vaccination to 1,973,143,196.

Assam flood situation improves, over 3.3 mn in 28 districts still affected
