Delhi records eighth cold wave day, temperature at 2.6 Degree Celsius

Delhi logged its eighth cold wave day in January on Wednesday, the most in the month in at least 12 years, according to data available on the India Meteorological Department website.

The Sadarjung observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 2.6 degrees Celsius. It was 2.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 1.4 degrees on Monday.

BSF seizes Chinese weapons dropped by Pak drone along international border in Punjab

The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized a cache of weapons and ammunition possibly dropped by a Pakistani drone along the international border in Punjab, officials said on Wednesday.

The spokesperson said BSF troops heard the humming sound of a "suspected drone coming from Pakistan" in the Uncha Takala frontier village area of Gurdaspur district on the intervening night of January 17-18.

Bengal test paper refers to 'Azad Kashmir', central minister says inspiring terrorism

A political row has erupted after a picture of a Class 10 practice test paper directing students to mark 'Azad Kashmir' on map went viral. Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir is dubbed as Azad Kashmir in Pakistan.

The image of the test paper was shared on social media by various BJP leaders including state president Sukanta Majumdar and national vice president Dilip Ghosh accusing the Mamata Banerjee government of trying to "create anti-India mentality" among the young minds.

Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar alleged that the question setter is "inspiring terrorism" and sought an immediate end to the sale of the book.

Maruti Suzuki recalls 17,362 units to fix faulty airbag controller

Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday said it is recalling 17,362 units of models like Alto K10, Brezza and Baleno to inspect and replace a faulty airbag controller.

The affected models are Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno and Grand Vitara, manufactured between December 8, 2022 and January 12, 2023, the country's largest carmaker said in a regulatory filing

As Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Ghatota in Himachal Pradesh amid dense fog, Rahul Gandhi said that the party had tried the raise issues in Parliament, but weren't let to do so. 

"Before yatra,we tried to raise issues in Parliament. But they don't let us raise issues there. We can't do that even through India's institutions, be it judiciary or press, they're all under pressure by BJP-RSS. So, we started yatra from Kanniyakumari," said Rahul Gandhi.
