Imran under threat from enemy agencies of Pakistan: Interior minister Sanaullah
Pakistan's Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that PTI chief Imran Khan faced a threat from "every enemy agency of Pakistan" and if something were to happen to him, it would bring a storm of embarrassment to the country.
"Every enemy and every enemy agency of Pakistan are after his life since he has got an FIR registered against him," The News quoted the minister as saying. "Now if something happens to (Khan), may it not be so and I pray for his long life, then the finger would be pointed at the Pakistan Army, the ISI, myself, and the prime minister because he has already got four names taped," he added.
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde orders probe in Pune-Bengaluru highway accident
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has ordered a thorough investigation into the cause of the tragic road accident on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in which over 40 vehicles were damaged and 38 people were reportedly injured.
"Several vehicles crashed in an accident involving a tanker at Navale bridge in Pune. As soon as the information about this accident was known, immediate instructions are given to find out the exact cause of the accident," tweeted CM Shinde.
He has also given instructions to the local administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured.
Low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal to bring heavy rains to Chennai
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that a low-pressure over the central parts of the southern Bay of Bengal has turned into a depression and would lead to heavy rainfall in parts of Chennai and north Tamil Nadu, and Karaikal town of Puducherry.
Certain areas of south Tamil Nadu is also expected to receive light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning.
The IMD said that on November 21, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Ranipet, and Tiruvallur districts of Tamil Nadu will receive heavy rains while on November 22 Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, and Vellore districts may receive heavy rains.
Active Covid cases in the country decline to 6,402: health ministry data
India logged 406 new coronavirus infections, taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 4,46,69,421, while the active cases dipped to 6,402, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Monday.
The death toll climbed to 5,30,586 with 12 fatalities, which included 11 deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.80 per cent, according to the ministry.
No let up in dengue despite winter onset; Lucknow reports 47 cases in a day
There seems to be no let-up in dengue cases despite the onset of the winter season as Lucknow registeres 47 cases in a day.
Majority of the new cases were reported from congested residential and commercial localities like Aishbagh (6), Chandar Nagar (5), Aliganj (5), Indira Nagar (4), NK Road (5) and Chinhat (4). Yogesh Raghuvanshi, district health education officer, said: "Notices were issued to 14 houses where mosquito larva was spotted by the health teams conducting survey to check mosquito breeding."
Experts have told PTI that despite a decline in temperatures, the number of new daily cases could take another couple of days to go down.

Sharing his views on the India-US ties, Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer said 2022 and 2023 are two critical years for this bilateral relationship.
"The year 2022 was huge in US-India relations. We think we have an even bigger year ahead in 2023. We have the Quad summit on the agenda coming up. We have India's G 20 presidency, which I know we're all be looking forward to, including Prime Minister Modi," Finer said at an event organised by the Indian embassy in Washington.
At least 24 vehicles damaged in pile-up after truck loses control on Pune bridge, 8 hospitalised
At least 24 vehicles were damaged after a truck lost control on the downward slope of a bridge on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway late Sunday evening, in which several persons suffered injuries with eight of them being hospitalised, a police official said.
The accident occurred on Navale bridge to suspected brake failure of the truck when it was moving towards Pune, he said, the Press Trust of India reported.
Ten to 15 people received minor injuries in the incident and they were given first aid on the spot. However, six to eight others were shifted to two hospitals for treatment, the official said.
