EU to hit Turkey with more sanctions over its Mediterranean gas exploration
European Union leaders early Friday gave the green light for the expansion of sanctions against Turkey over its exploration of gas reserves in Mediterranean waters claimed by EU members Greece and Cyprus.
Regrettably, Turkey has engaged in unilateral actions and provocations and escalated its rhetoric against the EU, EU member states and European leaders, they said in a statement from their summit in Brussels.

Grenade attack on CRPF camp in Srinagar's Noorbagh, no casualties reported
Militants on Friday lobbed a grenade on a CRPF camp in Noorbagh area of the city, police said.
No loss of human life or injury has been reported in the incident.
The ultras lobbed the grenade on the camp at 6:40 am. The grenade exploded outside the camp, killing a stray dog, a police official said.

Women's rights activist Trupti Desai stopped from going to Shirdi
Women's' rights activist Trupti Desai was detained in Amednagar in Maharashtra on Thursday while she was on her way to Shirdi to protest against the boards put up outside the famous Saibaba temple asking devotees to dress properly.
Over a dozen members of her organization were also detained alongside.
As per a report in PTI, Desai stated later that if the boards were not removed by December 31, they will again head for the temple town. The activist had been barred from entering Shirdi in Ahmednagar district till December 11 after she announced the protest.

The US on Thursday flew a pair of B-52 strategic bombers from a base in Louisiana to the Middle East, as a show of force against Iran, as tensions continue to escalate between Tehran and Washington during President Donald Trump's outgoing administration.
