Rain to continue in NCR-Delhi, parts of Haryana, UP and Rajasthan
Delhi and its adjoining areas and parts of Haryana, UP and Rajasthan will continue to receive moderate to heavy rain along with thunderstorms for the next few hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.
"Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain will continue to occur over most parts of Delhi, Gurugram, Farukhnagar, Sohna, Bhiwadi, Rewari, Bawal, Nuh, Tijara, Hodal, Palwal, Aurangabad, Hodal, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh (all in Haryana), Alwar, Viratnagar, Kotputli (all in Rajasthan), Khataoli, Dadri, Noida, Indirapuram, Chapraula, Pilakhua, Ghaziabad, Loni-Dehat, Bagpath, Khekra, Modinagar, Baraut, Meerut, Hapur, Kandhla, Gurmukhteshwar, Hindon-AF station, Muzaffarnagar, Jahangirabad, Bijnor, Siyana, Atrauli, Jalesar Amroha, Moradabad (all in UP) during the next two hours," the Met Department said.
CAG writes to Finmin, seeks performance audits of PSU bank recapitalisation
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has written to the finance ministry seeking details about the ongoing performance audit of government's massive recapitalisation excercise of public sector banks (PSBs).
CAG is doing performance audit on recapitalisation ofPSBs after 2016-17 and it has written a letter to the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, seeking various information, including rationale for distribution of capital among different PSBs, sources said.
The Government of India made capital infusion to the tune of Rs 90,000 crore in 2017-18. This rose to Rs 1.06 lakh crore in the following year. During the last financial year, the capital infusion through bonds was Rs 70,000 crore.

New supply of office space down 30-35 pc in 2020 amid pandemic: Reports
Fresh supply of office space fell 30-35 per cent year-on-year in 2020 across major cities mainly on lower demand because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to property consultants JLL and Savills.
While JLL India reported that new supply of office space across seven major cities declined 30 per cent to 36.34 million sq ft in 2020 from 51.62 million sq ft in the previous year, the UK-based Savills said fresh supply dropped to 30.6 million sq ft from 47.1 million sq ft across six big cities.
New office space supply was less impacted than the demand, which fell by around 45-50 per cent with corporates deferring their expansion plan and adopting work-from-home policy for employees.
Chilla, Gazipur borders closed, Delhi Traffic Police urges commuters to take alternative routes
In view of the ongoing farmers' agitation at the gates of the national capital, the Delhi Traffic Police on Sunday appealed to citizens to take alternative routes as Chilla and Gazipur borders remained closed due to the protests.
"Traffic Alert The Chilla & Ghazipur Borders are closed for traffic coming from Noida & Ghaziabad to Delhi because of farmer protests. Please take alternate route for coming to Delhi via Anand Vihar, DND, Apsara, Bhopra & Loni Borders," Delhi Traffic Police wrote on Twitter.
Cong leaders raise concern over grant of permission for restricted use of Covid-19 vaccine
Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma on Sunday raised concerns over India's drugs regulator granting permission for restricted use of Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine and asked the government to explain why mandatory protocols and verification of data has been dispensed with.
India's drugs regulator DCGI on Sunday approved Oxford's Covid-19 vaccine Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin for restricted emergency use.
Sharma, who heads the Parliamentary panel on Home Affairs which dealt with the issue at length, said the issue of granting authorisation to the vaccine use needs to be taken carefully as no country has dispensed with the mandatory phase 3 trials and verification of data.

Ganguly afebrile, conscious and doctors keeping 'constant vigil' on his health
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly is presently afebrile, conscious, and communicating verbally, according to the Woodlands Hospital's medical bulletin. It also said that the doctors are keeping "constant vigil on his health situation" and taking appropriate measures from time to time.
Former India captain was hospitalised at 1 pm on Saturday with "chest discomfort, the heaviness of head, vomiting and a spell of dizziness" while performing physical exercise in the home gymnasium at around 11 am. Following this, doctors had conducted angioplasty on him.
Ganguly was also tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which turned out to be negative. He had "light dinner" at night, the medical bulletin read, adding that his blood pressure and pulse is stable.
