Monsoon update: Four die in rain-related incidents in Delhi

The first heavy monsoon rainfall in the national capital claimed four lives, including that of a mini-truck driver who got trapped in a waterlogged underpass.
 
According to police, three others, including an eight-year-old boy, died in rain-related incidents in the city.
 
Many low-lying areas were inundated, the traffic came to a standstill on important roads, and at least 10 houses collapsed in a slum area in Anna Nagar, which is behind the WHO Headquarters near ITO, displacing the residents.

Monsoon 2020: 10 killed in lightning strikes in Bihar

In Bihar, 10 people were killed in lightning strikes during a thunderstorm in seven districts of the state, officials said.

Three casualties were reported from Purnea, two from Begusarai and one each from Patna, Saharsa, East Champaran, Madhepura and Darbhanga districts, they said.

More than 160 people have died due to lightning strikes in the state in the past three weeks.

Rajasthan political crisis: Congress legislator claims Sanjay Jain contacted him 8 month ago

Congress legislator Rajendra Gudha on Sunday claimed that arrested middleman Sanjay Jain had contacted him about eight months ago to ask him to meet former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and other BJP leaders.
 
"BJP's game plan was going on for long time. Eight months ago, he had come to me asking to meet Vasundhara Raje and other BJP leaders. Their people and middlemen were active but they could not succeed in their attempts," Gudha told reporters here.
 
Jain's name had surfaced in one of the viral audio recordings in which he is heard about horse-trading of legislators to topple the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan.

A day after enjoying antakshari and actor Aamir Khan's blockbuster movie 'Lagaan', Congress MLAs of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's camp lodged at Hotel Fairmont here were spotted watching cult classic hit 'Sholay'.The Congress MLAs in favour of the state government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have been lodged at Hotel Fairmont amid the political turmoil in Rajasthan.
 
Released on August 15, 1975, 'Sholay' was about two petty criminals, Veeru and Jai (Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan), who are hired by a retired police officer to capture the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh.
 
The film also stars Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan and it has superhit music by RD Burman.
 
These MLAs were also seen attending cooking classes, playing 'antakshari' and watching Mughal-e-Azam.
