Afghanistan writes to UNSC over 'violations' of its territory by Pak forces
Afghanistan has written to the UN Security Council over continued violations of its territory by Pakistani military forces and said it will ask the 15-nation UN body to take necessary measures and actions to end them if the situation is not de-escalated bilaterally. Afghanistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Adela Raz wrote to the President of the Security Council, Germany, to report on the most recent violations of the Afghan territory by Pakistan's military forces and said the incursion" represents a reiteration of violations as Kabul had previously expressed its concerns to the Security Council in February and August 2019.

NSUI demands arrest of ABVP president after complaint of harassment
National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of Congress, has demanded the arrest of national president of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Dr Subbiah Shanmugam for allegedly harassing a woman in an apartment complex in Chennai. A case has been registered by Adambakkam police under Sections of IPC 271 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Tamil Nadu prevention of women harassment act against Dr Shanmugam based on the complaint of the victim. NSUI alleged that an FIR has not been registered in the case since Shanmugam is the national president of ABVP and he has his political connections as well.
Punjab to plant trees in villages to mark 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur
The Punjab government has decided to plant 400 trees in every village of the state to mark the auspicious 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji, the state government said. "The plantation drive will be part of the various programmes and celebrations planned by the state government to commemorate the historic occasion," said Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday during the #AskCaptain Facebook Live session.
Haryana has no role in Rajasthan political events: Anil Vij
Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has denied the role of the state government in the political crisis of Rajasthan and also refuted allegations of any of Congress MLAs kept as hostages in Haryana. "Haryana has no role in political events in Rajasthan. Haryana has not kept anyone hostage. Governor does what he thinks is good. He cannot be pressurised that's why if he thinks Assembly session cannot be convened at this time then the session should not be called," Vij told ANI. The Minister's remarks came in response to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's allegations that his colleagues, apparently referring to Congress MLAs from Sachin Pilot camp, have been held as hostages in Haryana under BJP's supervision.
Trump signs orders to lower prescription drug prices
US President Donald Trump on Friday signed four executive orders aimed at lowering the prices Americans pay for prescription drugs, as he faces an uphill re-election battle and criticism over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Trump has previously proposed most of the changes made by the executive orders he signed on Friday, but this is the first time they have made it into signed executive orders. One order would allow for the legal importation of cheaper prescription drugs from countries like Canada, while another would require discounts from drug companies now captured by middlemen to be passed on to patients, Trump said.
7 injured in California shooting
Seven people were injured in a shooting incident in central California, authorities said. On Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said that its units were on a traffic stop near the area of 4400 Woodward Avenue in the city of Manteca when they heard several gunshots and then saw several people running, reports Xinhua news agency. San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies responded to the shooting soon afterwards. "There had apparently been a large party and someone had showed up and started shooting into the crowd," the office said in a statement.

Hurricane Hanna roared ashore onto the Texas Gulf Coast on Saturday, bringing winds that lashed the shoreline with rain and storm surge, and even threatening to bring possible tornadoes to a part of the country trying to cope with a spike in coronavirus cases. The first hurricane of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season made landfall at around 5 pm. CDT about 15 miles (24 kilometers) north of Port Mansfield, which is about 130 miles (209 km) south of Corpus Christi and about 70 miles (113 km) north of Brownsville. As of Saturday evening, it had maximum sustained winds of 90 mph (145 kph).
