One child or youth under 20 infected with HIV every 100 seconds: UNICEF
Approximately once every minute and 40 seconds, a child or young person under the age of 20 was infected with HIV last year, the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said on Wednesday.
Prevention efforts and treatment for children remain some of the lowest amongst key affected populations, and in 2019, a little less than half of children worldwide did not have access to life-saving treatment, UNICEF said in a new report.

Iran expects to get 41 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine via several channels
Iran is planning to get 41 million doses of the vaccine against the coronavirus disease via different channels for about 20 million people, the country's health and medical education minister, Saeed Namaki, said on Wednesday.
According to Namaki, Iran has arranged three ways to obtain the coronavirus vaccine.
"The first [way] is through the purchase of a vaccine from COVAX Covid-19 Vaccine Global Access Facility]. This is the import of 16.8 million doses via COVAX, which covers about 10 percent of our population -- 8.4 million people," Namaki said on air via the IRINN broadcaster.
The minister added that Iran was working on getting 5.5 million doses under a joint production agreement with a pharmaceutical companies.

Changes in Delhi Metro services in wake of farmer movement 'Dilli Chalo'
The services of Delhi Metro will be affected on Thursday due to the farmers' movement. Farmer organisations from different parts of the country including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab have called for 'Dilli chalo' march on November 26 against the new farm laws. Hence, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued an advisory as a precautionary measure.
According to the DMRC, the Delhi Metro services will be disrupted at some selected station across all its lines till 2 p.m. This will cause inconvenience at the stations touching borders. UN release $25 mn for women-led projects fighting gender-based violence
The United Nations humanitarian chief has released 25 million US dollars from its emergency fund to support women-led organisations that prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
The funding has gone to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UN Women that have been asked to channel at least 30 per cent of it to organisations run by women that prevent violence against women and girls, and help victims and survivors with access to medical care, family planning, legal advice, safe spaces, mental health services and counselling, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in a press release on Wednesday.
