Chinese auto major Great Wall Motors, which had announced $1 billion investment in India earlier this year, is hopeful of hearing soon from the Indian government on clearances for its proposals, including acquisition of General Motors' factory in Talegaon, according to a company official.
In January this year, Great Wall Motors (GWM) agreed to buy General Motors' (GM) Talegaon manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, subject to requisite government and regulatory approvals.
The transaction was expected to close in the second half of 2020.

This insurancecompensates for direct financial loss (up to the sum insured) due to unauthorised digital financial transactions as a result of identity theft arising out of cyber-attacks, phishing/spoofing and SIM-jacking, a joint statement said.
"Customers can opt for a one-year cover at premiums as low as Rs 183 for a cover of Rs 50,000," the statement added.

Electric vehicle startup Etrio on Tuesday said it has raised $3 million (about Rs 22 crore) from Singapore-based investors. The Hyderabad-based company said it has raised the capital in Series A round from investors.
The group of investors is led by Janardhan Rao, founder of Triumph Global Group - a Singapore headquartered international commodity trading house with a consolidated revenue of over USD 900 million, it added.
The investment would fuel the company's foray into new electric vehicles in three-wheelers and bicycle segments, Etrio said.

The commissioning of state-owned miner NMDC Limiteds Rs 21,000 crore three-million tonne capacity steel plant in Chhattisgarh, targeted this year, has been delayed due to Covid-19 and is now expected by July next year, a top official said on Tuesday.
Experts from foreign countries, engaged in the project work, could not undertake a visit for an inspection and clearance in view of Covid-19 travel restrictions, the city- headquartered NMDC's Chairman cum Managing Director Sumit Deb said.
Senior officials of the PSU had earlier indicated that the plant would be operational this year.
Replying to shareholders' queries at the virtual Annual General Meeting, Deb said NMDC has so far invested Rs 16,000 crore in the plant and the total cost would be Rs 21,000 crore once completed.

At the interbank forex market, the domestic unit opened at 73.78 against the US dollar, and finally closed at 73.86 against the greenback, registering a fall of 7 paise over its previous close.
On Monday, the rupee settled at 73.79 against the US dollar. During the session, the local unit witnessed an intra-day high of 73.75 and a low of 73.91 against the American currency.

Amidst slump in auto sales due to Covid-19 pandemic, Japanese two-wheeler major Yamaha is expecting its Indian subsidiary to clock 5-8 per cent growth in North East in next year, a senior official said on Tuesday.
The Japanese company's wholly-owned subsidiary Yamaha Motor India Sales, which earlier said this year's sales in the Indian market will be the lowest in a decade due to COVID-19 pandemic, is hoping that the North East market will continue to grow despite challenges.
"Yamaha continues to remain a top choice of the two- wheeler customers in the NE market. The market is expected to grow between 5-8 per cent by the next year," Yamaha Motor India Sales (YMIS) Senior Vice President Ravinder Singh said.

Nepal has issued new guidelines for foreign tourists arriving in the country for mountaineering, including carrying a PCR test report conducted not more than 72 hours ago, in order to minimise the possible spread of coronavirus infection, a media report said on Tuesday.
According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation , the travellers must have a booking-document for the hotel wherein they will stay at least seven days in quarantine, the Himalayan Times reported.

1:50 PMDelhi Jal Board issues notices to central govt depts over pending bills of Rs 6,811 cr
Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman Raghav Chadha said the DJB has issued notices to several central government departments, including Railways and Delhi Police, and municipal corporations asking them to clear dues amounting to Rs 6,811 crore within 30 days.
Addressing a press conference, Chadha said the notices were also issued to the Central Public Works Department and the Delhi Development Authority between September 1 and September 15. He said the Covid-19 pandemic has hit the economy hard and governments across the country were facing financial challenges.
"Is it imperative that these outstanding dues are paid so that the DJB can deal with the financial challenges," he said.

The Karnataka government on Tuesday sought to assure parents of students that it was not in a hurry to reopen schools in the state and said there was no need for them to panic. The government said it was not mulling resumption of schools in the near future.
Addressing reporters here, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar said, "Let there be no panic. The state government has not yet taken a call on reopening the schools. There is no thought on starting them in the near future."
The minister's statement comes as the reports emerged that he was seeking the opinion of other ministers and MLAs about reopening schools, which are not conducting regular classes due to coronavirus scare since the lockdown was clamped in the state.

The Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory in Mumbai on Tuesday said that its report in July on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput had ruled our any kind of poison or organic poisoning.
"Our report had ruled out any kind of poison or organic poisoning," Kalina FSL said. The lab had submitted the report on Sushant Singh Rajput's death to the Mumbai Police in June.
This comes as a panel of doctors from All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), re-evaluating Sushant Singh Rajput's post-mortem and viscera reports submitted their findings to the Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday.
Dr Sudhir Gupta, chairman of AIIMS' Forensic Medical Board, had yesterday said that there is a need to look into some legal aspects for a logical conclusion.
"AIIMS and CBI are in agreement on the Sushant Singh Rajput death case but more deliberations are needed. There is a need to look into some legal aspects for a logical legal conclusion in due course of time. It will be totally conclusive," Gupta told ANI.
On September 7, ANI reported that the AIIMS forensic team had conducted viscera test to check for poisoning in Rajput's death.
