SC junks 'unnecessary' PIL for CBI probe into Sushant Singh's death

The Supreme Court Friday dismissed a PIL seeking a CBI or NIA probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, saying "strangers" are "unnecessarily" coming when his father is pursuing already pursuing the case.
 

Rajput, 34, was found hanging from the ceiling of his apartment in suburban Bandra in Mumbai on June 14.
 

Mumbai police has been probing the case and recorded statements of 56 people including Bollywood directors like Aditya Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

ICC says its video channel most viewed among sporting bodies with 1.65 billion views

The International Cricket Council's video channel got the most number of views on Facebook in the first half of this year, more than double the engagement of other global sporting federations, the body stated on Friday citing the findings of a content analysis tool.
 

The ICC said that the number of views on its video channel stood at 1.65 billion in the first half of 2020, which is more than any other leading sporting organisations on the platform.
 

The results, it said, were derived from the Facebook-owned CrowdTangle's analysis.

Rhea Chakraborty appears before ED in money laundering case

Actor Rhea Chakraborty, accused of abetting suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here on Friday in connection with the money laundering case lodged by it.
 

The ED has also summoned for questioning Shruti Modi, who is Chakraborty's business manager, and Rajput's friend and roommate Siddharth Pithani in connection with the money laundering probe stemming from a complaint filed by his father with the Bihar Police in connection with his death, officials said.

Heavy rains in Idukki, Wayanad districts in Kerala; CM asks people to be vigilant

Heavy rains lashed the high range Idukki, Wayanad and Palakkad districts in Kerala on Tuesday as Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urged people to be vigilant as weathermen predicted widespread showers in the state's central and northernparts this week.
 
Idukki's Peermade received 14 cm, the tourist town of Munnar 12 cm in the last 24 hours, while Vythiri and Mananthavady in Wayanad recorded 13 and 12 cm respectively.
 
In Palakkad and Ottapalam in Palakkad district, eight and seven cm rain was recorded.
