4 security forces personnel, 3 militants killed during infiltration bid by ultras in J&K's Machil
Four security forces personnel, including an Army officer, and three militants were killed during a failed infiltration bid by the ultras along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Machil sector on Sunday, officials said.
The militants made an abortive bid during the night to infiltrate into the Indian side of the LoC in Machil sector in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, they added.

Water stock in Marathwada dams 14% more than last year
Water stock in major dams of the Marathwada region in Maharashtra is currently 14 per cent more as compared to last year, officials said on Sunday.
The irrigation department is expecting an increase in the irrigated land area and revenue this year as the reservoirs have good water stock, an official told PTI.
The Marathwada region comprises Aurangabad, Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Osmanabad and Parbhani districts.

Over 1100 candidates with criminal antecedents contested the Bihar assembly polls, according to data collated by the Election Commission.

A constable, Sudip Sarkar, was killed during a joint operation by the security forces against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Machil sector on Sunday, said Border Security Force (BSF).
"Constable Sudip Sarkar lost his life during the operation in Machil Sector. Reinforcements received from Indian Army, the Joint operation still underway," said Border Security Force.

GST Portal scaled up to handle 300,000 taxpayers concurrently
The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) portal has been enabled to handle double the taxpayer traffic for return filing after the GST infra was upgraded to handle up to three lakh concurrent users at a time.
"The GSTN Portal now successfully handles almost double the taxpayer traffic for return filing immediately after lockdown. It has been made possible as the GST infra has been upgraded to handle up to three lakh concurrent logged-in users at a time," according to an official statement.

Commerce ministry asks shipping ministry to reduce quarantine period for vessels arriving from China
The Commerce Ministry has asked its shipping and health counterparts to consider reducing the 14-day mandatory quarantine period for shipping vessels arriving from ports in China for faster turnaround time and increasing availability of containers, sources said.
The Commerce Ministry has asked to reduce the 14-day quarantine period to seven days as the 14-day period is impacting trade, they added.
