CRPF launches organ donation drive with AIIMS
The Central Reserve Police Force on Friday launched a mega campaign to raise awarness about organ donation amongst its about 3.25 lakh personnel, officials said.
CRPF Director General (DG) A P Maheshwari launched the mission over a webinar session along with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Director Dr Randeep Guleria and head of its Organ Retrieval Banking Organisation (ORBO) Dr Aarti Vij.
The CRPF chief also filled up an online organ donation form during the launch event of the campaign that has been named 'e-sanjeevani', a senior officer said.

Allow e-way bill for intra-state transportation of gold: GoM
States can make e-way bill mandatory for transportation of gold within the respective states but implementing it for inter-state movement across India will not be feasible, a state-ministerial panel suggested on Friday.
The group of ministers (GoM), comprising finance ministers of Kerala, Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Karnataka and West Bengal, set up to examine feasibility of implementation of e-way bill for movement of gold and precious stones met via video conferencing.
India supports intra-Afghan negotiations: MEA on release of 400 Taliban prisoners
India has taken note of the developments in Afghanistan regarding the release of 400 Taliban prisoners and supports intra-Afghan negotiations, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.
"We have taken note of the development. India supports peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan. We also support the intra-Afghan negotiations," MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said at a weekly briefing.
The remarks by the MEA comes after the Loya Jirga (grand assembly) on August 9 approved the release of 400 Taliban prisoners as a goodwill gesture in a major breakthrough that will pave the way for intra-Afghan talks.
