Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung will visit Metro construction sites across the capital today to inspect measures taken by authorities to contain the spread of dengue.

He said the Delhi government, civic bodies, cantonment board and the railways authorities were doing "their best" to help patients suffering from the disease.

"We are in this fight together and I am sure with the grace of the Almighty and our combined efforts we will soon end this menace," he said.

In a public appeal, he urged people to ensure that mosquitoes are not allowed to breed within homes or neighbourhoods.

"While fogging in our homes is helpful, it is absolutely imperative that we do not allow any uncovered standing water either within our homes or outside," Jung said.

Jung advised the public to visit medical facilities whenever in doubt, saying the disease is well controllable when tackled in time.

"In case of any emergency please call the Municipals Corporation's emergency number 2320010 (North/ South) and 2216 5880 (East)," he said.
