Ashish Mishra taken to Crime Branch office for interrogation
The Uttar Pradesh Police took MoS Home Ajay Mishra's son Ashish to the Crime Branch office here on Tuesday for interrogation in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, a day after a court sent him to three-day police custody, an official said.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Chintaram on Monday had granted three-day police remand, with the condition that Ashish Mishra would not be harassed and his lawyer would remain present during interrogation.
He was arrested on Saturday night in connection with the October 3 Lakhimpur Kheri violence in which eight people, including four farmers, were killed.

Evergrande misses 3rd round of bond coupon payments
China Evergrande Group on Tuesday missed its third round of bond payments in three weeks, intensifying market fears over contagion involving other property developers as a wall of debt payment obligations come due in the near-term, Reuters reported. Some bondholders said they did not receive coupon payments totalling $148 million on Evergrande's April 2022, April 2023 and April 2024 notes due by 0400 GMT on Tuesday, following two other payments it missed in September.

Power firms asked to boost supply to Delhi

New Zealand's government on Tuesday reported a marked improvement in its finances thanks to a surprisingly brisk recovery for its economy, though a fresh coronavirus outbreak has since clouded the outlook somewhat. The treasury said it had a budget deficit of NZ$4.6 billion ($3.2 billion) in the year to end June 2021, compared with a shortfall of NZ$15.1 billion forecast just a few months ago in May, Reuters reported.

Adani Ports to stop handling containers from 3 countries
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, India's largest port operator, said on Monday that its terminals would no longer handle export and import of container cargoes from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan from Nov. 15. The decision comes weeks after officials seized nearly three tonnes of heroin originating from Afghanistan worth an estimated Rs 200 billion ($2.65 billion) from two containers at western Gujarat's Mundra Port, run by Adani Ports.
