Commerce minister Piyush Goyal to meet Chinese counterpart

Commerce and trade Minister Piyush Goyal will have a one-on-one meeting with his Chinese counterpart on Tuesday at the G-20 summit in Italy. He will also meet other trade ministers, including those from the United States, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, and Canada, among others, Reuters reported quoting a government statement.

5 soldiers die in gunfight in Kashmir

Five Indian Army soldiers died in a gunfight with terrorists in a forest at Surankote in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday amid a spike in violence in the region. Three other gunfights were reported on Monday in Kashmir. The latest casualties are the worst security forces have suffered in anti-insurgency operations in the region this year, Hindustan Times reported.

Akasa Air, backed by billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, said on Monday it expects to start flying next year after getting initial clearance from the civil aviation ministry to launch the country's latest ultra-low cost carrier.
