Sonia Gandhi seeks 3-week time from ED to appear for questioning in National Herald case

Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi, who recently tested positive for COVID and is undergoing isolation, has sought a 3-week time from Enforcement Directorate to appear for questioning in money laundering case in connection with the National Herald case. Notably, Sonia Gandhi was supposed to be questioned at the ED office in Delhi on Wednesday along with Rahul Gandhi, however, owing to her illness, she skipped the summons issued by the Agency. According to the sources, the Congress president has reached out to the ED as she has yet not tested negative for the virus. She has cited the advice of the doctors to take rest.

9 people shot dead in separate firing incidents in Pakistan's Punjab

Nine people were shot dead by unidentified men in two separate firing incidents in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province during the last 24 hours, police said. Four people were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire at a vehicle in Sheikhupura district of the province, police told local media on Wednesday as quoted by Xinhua news agency report. The suspects intercepted the vehicle on the road near Kala Shah Kaku area of the district and opened fire at it, they said.

PM Modi to inaugurate Biotech Startup Expo 2022 today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Biotech Startup Expo - 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi today at 10. This will be followed by his address on the occasion, said a statement issued by the PMO. According to the PMO, the Biotech Startup Expo - 2022 is a two-day event being held on June 9 and 10. It is being organised by the Department of Biotechnology and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).
