Bharat Bandh LIVE updates: OSRTC bus services to remain suspended from 6am to 3pm in Odisha
The bus services of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) will remain suspended from 6am to 3pm on Monday due to a nationwide strike called by farmer organisations against the Centre's three contentious new agriculture laws.
It was on September 27 last year that President Ram Nath Kovind gave assent and brought into force the three legislations, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of over 40 farmer unions, said in a statement.
Trade unions and several non-NDA parties including the Congress have backed the strike called by the Morcha from 6am to 4pm on Monday.
"Keeping in view the Bharat Bandh, OSRTC buses will not ply on 27/9/21 from 6.00am to 3.00pm," the Odisha transport authority tweeted on Sunday.

Opposition parties, State Govts extend support to Samyukt Kisan Morcha's call for 'Bharat Bandh' tomorrow
Samyukt Kisan Morcha's (SKM) call for a 'Bharat Bandh' on Monday, to mark the first anniversary of the enactment of the three farm laws, has garnered support from more than 500 farmer organizations, 15 trade unions, political parties, six state governments and varied sections of society.
State governments of Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Punjab, Jharkhand, and Andhra Pradesh will extend their support to the 'Bharat Bandh' protest.
SKM has said that the bandh will be observed from 6 am to 4 pm tomorrow. In this period, all government and private offices, educational and other institutions, shops, industries and commercial establishments as well as public events and functions will be closed throughout the country.
However, exemptions to the bandh include all emergency establishments and essential services, including hospitals, medical stores, relief and rescue work and people attending to personal emergencies.

Karnataka farmer bodies to observe Bharat Bandh on Monday
Karnataka farmers' organisations across the state are all set to observe Bharat Bandh on Monday against new farm laws enacted by the Central government. The State Farmers' Association, Hasiru Sene, Sugar Cane Growers Association, Pranta Raita Sangha have given a call to observe total bandh in the state.
They have also given a call to block national highways and arterial roads in the cities across the state. The farmer organisations have also decided to take out massive rallies and observe complete bandh. However, many organisations have only extended moral support to the Bharat Bandh.
The state government has warned that in case of damage to public properties, state government-owned buses, the organisers will be held responsible.
The traffic in the heart of Bengaluru city is expected to be thrown out of gear on the first day of the week.

Bharat Bandh LIVE updates: Security beefed up in Delhi
The security arrangements across the peripheries of the national capital were beefed up in the wake Bharat Bandh on Monday to mark one year of the passage of the Centre's three contentious farm laws.
Farmers' umbrella body, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, had given a call for the Bharat Bandh, saying that their "historic Struggle" to repeal the farm laws completes 10 months on this day.
From 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., everything would be closed throughout the country be it government and private offices, all educational and other institutions, all shops, industries and commercial establishments, all public events and functions would be shut.
The SKM had said public and private transport shall also come to a halt during this period, however, as per initial reports, public transport, including the Delhi Metro, were seen functional.

Bharat Bandh LIVE updates: Delhi Police tightens security at border points
The Delhi Police has beefed up security in border areas of the national capital in view of the Bharat Bandh called by farmer unions against the Centre's three agri laws on Monday.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the umbrella body of over 40 farm unions spearheading the farmers' agitation, had earlier appealed to the people to join the bandh.
A senior police officer said adequate security arrangements have been made to maintain the law an order situation and prevent any untoward incident in the national capital during the bandh.
Patrolling has been intensified, extra personnel have been deployed at the pickets especially across the border areas and every vehicle entering the national capital is being thoroughly checked, according to the police.

Bharat Bandh LIVE updates: Near total strike in Kerala
After the ruling Left and the Opposition Congress joined hands to support the agitating farmers, Kerala is seeing a total shutdown on Monday morning.
Markets, shops, establishments and offices are closed and so are all the public vehicles. Baring private vehicles, everything in the state has come to a complete standstill.
After the support from the political parties, the civil society has also lent its support to the agitating farmers. The result of this was that people have preferred to remain indoors. Incidentally, on account of the state and the country observing Covid protocols for the past 18 months, Monday's protest is the first political shutdown that Kerala is witnessing.
However, like on any shutdown day, the ISRO units are all functioning and its employees are being taken to the respective units in the state capital in their buses with armed security.
