Security tightened in Tamil Nadu ahead of PM Modi's visit
The Tamil Nadu Police have tightened security in Madurai, Dindigul districts of the state in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Gandhigram Rural University for a convocation ceremony on Friday afternoon.
Prime Minister Modi, who is arriving at Madurai airport from Bengaluru by 2.50 p.m., would reach the Gandhigram university by chopper for the 3.15 p.m. convocation.

Dengue cases spike in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, 194 infections reported so far
Several parts of Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district have reported an uptick in dengue cases.
Gorakhpur has reported 194 dengue cases so far this year, district malaria officer Dr Angad Kumar Singh said. However, no death has been reported till now due to dengue, which is spread through the bite of infected aedes mosquitoes.

No plan for lethal weapon supply to Ukraine, says South Korea
The South Korean Defence Ministry on Friday reaffirmed its commitment not to provide Ukraine with lethal military support, responding to a news report that Seoul is working on a "confidential" arms deal with Washington on the exports of artillery shells for use by Kiev against Russia in the ongoing war.
According to the Wall Street Journal, which cited unnamed American officials, the US plans to buy 100,000 rounds of 155mm artillery from South Korea for delivery to Ukraine, reports Yonhap News Agency.

India logs 842 new Covid-19 cases in a single day; active tally in the country dips to 12,752
India logged 842 new coronavirus infections taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,46,64,810, while the active cases dipped to 12,752, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The death toll climbed to 5,30,520 with six fatalities which includes five reconciled by Kerala. One death has been reported from Rajasthan in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am stated.
