Paras Defence and Space Technologies files IPO papers
Paras Defence and Space Technologies has filed preliminary papers with market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to float an initial public offer (IPO).
The offering comprises fresh issuance of shares worth Rs 120 crore and an offer of sale of up to 17,24,490 equity stocks by promoters and existing shareholders, the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) filed with Sebi showed.
The company is considering a pre-IPO placement of equity shares worth Rs 35 crore.
Proceeds of the fresh issue would be used to fund capital expenditure requirements, to support incremental working capital needs and repayment or prepayment of loans availed by the company.

Vedanta's mining plant in Goa can't operate sans environment clearance: NGT
The National Green Tribunal has held that Vedanta's mining plant in Dharbandora area in Goa cannot operate without obtaining Environment Clearance (EC).
A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said the recommencement of the plant in 2019 can only be done after obtaining EC.
"Accordingly, we hold that the application is maintainable and requirement of prior EC for operating the plants in question by Respondent no. 4 (Vedanta) is attracted. The Ministry of Environment and Forests and the Goa State Pollution Control Board may take further remedial action in accordance with this finding to enforce the rule of law," the bench said.

India Inc anticipates rise in payrolls in April-June quarter: Survey
Corporate India is indicating a rebound in its recruitment plans for the coming three months, and the sectors that are expected to drive the second-quarter job market include public administration and education followed by the services sector, a survey said on Tuesday.
According to the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey by ManpowerGroup India, hiring is rebounding in Q2 2021 with a net employment outlook of 9 per cent.
"India remains resilient in the job market recovery post the pandemic. The new budget announced also seems to provide the right impetus to opportunities in job creation especially in the public infrastructure, healthcare and BFSI," said Sandeep Gulati, Group Managing Director of ManpowerGroup India.

PM Modi inaugurates 'Maitri Setu' between India and Bangladesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the "Maitri Setu" between India and Bangladesh, a bridge built over the Feni river, with Bangladeshi premier Sheikh Hasina asserting that political boundaries should not become physical barriers for trade.
Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of multiple infrastructure projects in Tripura during the online event.
Speaking on the occasion via video-conference, he said Tripura is experiencing the change that has come with the government of "double engine" in the state from the time of the previous government of 30 years.

EU lawmakers lift immunity for Catalan separatist Puigdemont
The European Parliament on Tuesday voted to lift the immunity of the former president of Spain's Catalonia region, Carles Puigdemont, a move that could pave the way for his extradition.
A decision on two of his associates was expected later.
In the decision, 400 legislators voted for the waiver of immunity, 248 were against it and 45 abstained.

Puravankara re-enters Mumbai realty mkt; to build premium project for Rs 450 cr
Realty firm Puravankara Ltd on Tuesday said it has re-entered the Mumbai market and will develop a premium mixed-use project in the city at a cost of Rs 450 crore.
The group had developed real estate projects in 1970s under a different brand.
In the project 'Purva Clermont' located in Chembur, the company will develop four residential towers with 233 units and one commercial tower of 79 units. The project is spread over 2.25 acres, which is fully-owned by the company.
