Trinamool wins 4 seats in Bengal, rivals bag none
The Trinamool Congress on Tuesday won four assembly seats that held by-elections on October 30. It wrested Dinhata and Santipur from the BJP to raise its tally to 215 in the 294-member West Bengal assembly. Trinamool retained the Khardah and Gosaba assembly seats, PTI reported.

Shiv Sena wins Dadra and Nagar Lok Sabha seat
Shiv Sena candidate Kalaben Delkar won the Dadra and Nagar Haveli Lok Sabha seat after a by-election on October 30, reports the Indian Express. "First step outside Maharashtra, giant leap towards Delhi via Dadra Nagar Haveli," said Sena MP Sanjay Raut, referring to his party’s alliance government in the western state.

BJP, ally set to win 5 seats in Assam
The ruling BJP and an ally won a seat each in assembly by-polls in Assam and they parties are leading in the other three seats on Tuesday, PTI reported. BJP candidate Sushanta Borgohain won the Thowra seat, while United People's Party, Liberal (UPPL) nominee Jiron Basumatary pocketed the Gossaigaon constituency.

BJP wins one seat in Karnataka, loses another
The ruling BJP on Tuesday won the Sindgi assembly seat in Karntaka and lost Hangal to the Congress party in bypolls held on October 30. The BJP’s loss in Hangal is a setback to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, as it neighbours his Shiggaon assembly segment in Haveri district. Bommai had extensively campaigned in Hangal, PTI reported.

The Congress party won three assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh and is leading in the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, dealing a blow to the ruling BJP in the state. The party retained Fatehpur and Arki Assembly seats and wrested Jubbal-Kotkhai seat from the BJP, PTI reported.

Ex-Maha home minister Anil Deshmukh produced in court by ED for remand
Former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh was on Tuesday produced before a special court here by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following his arrest in a money laundering case.
Deshmukh was produced for remand before additional sessions judge P B Jadhav, who is presiding over the special holiday court, a little after noon.
The ED is likely to seek his custody for further questioning.
