Ellenabad bypoll: INLD leader Abhay Chautala leads by 8,180 votes
INLD secretary general Abhay Singh Chautala has increased his lead over his nearest rival Gobind Kanda of the BJP, with a margin of 8,180 votes in the Ellenabad assembly constituency in Haryana.
Counting of votes for the October 30 bypoll to the seat is in progress.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli LS bypoll: Shiv Sena takes decisive lead
Shiv Sena candidate Kalaben Delkar, the wife of former independent MP late Mohan Delkar, took a decisive lead of over 15,000 votes as counting was underway on Tuesday for the by-election to the Dadra and Nagar Haveli Lok Sabh seat.
The counting of votes commenced at 8.30 am in Karad area of Silvassa city in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, which is part of the Union Territory of the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
The bypoll for this parliamentary seat, reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, was held on October 30.

The people of India deeply value the friendship with Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday, as he recalled his meeting with his Israeli counterpart Naftali Bennett on the sidelines of the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow and reaffirmed to work together to enhance the strong bilateral ties.
Prime Minister Modi, who was accompanied by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, interacted with Bennett on Monday in a visibly cordial brief meeting.
In a video tweeted by Prime Minister Modi, the two leaders were seen exchanging pleasantries during their animated discussion.

Covid vaccinated people with prior infection may have more antibodies: Study
Antibody levels against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, stay more durable in people who were infected by the disease and then received two doses of vaccine compared with those who only got immunised, according to a study.
The research, published in Journal of the American Medical Association on Monday, followed 1,960 health care workers in the US who had received both doses of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines.
This included 73 people who had a positive SARS-CoV-2 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result before the first vaccine dose.

Ruling MNF wins Mizoram's Tuirial bypoll
The ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) on Tuesday won the bypoll to the Tuirial assembly seat in Mizoram by securing 39.96 per cent of the total 14,561 votes polled, as per the Election Commission.
MNF candidate K Laldawngliana defeated his nearest opponent Laltlanmawia of the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) by a margin of 1,284 votes, the EC said.
Laldawngliana secured 5,820 votes, while Laltlanmawia got 4,536 votes (31.15 per cent), it said.

India will always strengthen any effort for sustainable development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday after Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission described India as a key partner in combating climate change.
Prime Minister Modi again met Leyen during the COP26 Climate Summit here on Monday. President of the European Council Charles Michel and Leyen had met Modi in Rome on Friday on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.
"Good to continue close collaboration with PM @narendramodi #COP26 as well. India is a key partner on fighting the global climate. I greatly appreciate PM Modi leadership," European Commission President Leyen tweeted on Monday.

Congress candidates leading in Rajasthan bypolls
Congress candidates Nagraj Meena and Preeti Shaktawat are leading in Dhariawad and Vallabhnagar Assembly constituencies of Rajasthan on Tuesday, according to trends available for the bypolls.
Nagraj Meena is leading by a margin of 7,528 votes over BJP candidate Khet Singh Meena in Dhariawad.
In Vallabhnagar, Shaktawat is ahead of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) candidate Udailal Dangi by a margin of 4037 votes.

Meghalaya bypolls: Ruling NPP leading in two assembly seats, UDP in one
Meghalaya's ruling National People's Party (NPP) is leading in Mawryngkneng and Rajabala assembly seats where counting of votes got underway on Tuesday, according to the Election Commission of India website.
The United Democratic Party (UDP) is leading in Mawphalang constituency where its candidate Eugeneson Lyngdoh was ahead of Congress's Kennedy Cornelius Khyriem by 1,700 votes.
NPP's Pyniaid Sing Syiem in Mawryngkneng is leading his nearest Congress rival Highlander Kharmalki by 823 votes.

Bengal by-polls: TMC takes massive leads in all four seats
The ruling Trinamool Congress is leading in all the four assembly constituencies in West Bengal, where by-polls were held on October 30, according to the latest update of counting trends by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The counting of votes to Khardah, Santipur, Gosaba and Dinhata began at 8 am amid tight security.
After the first round of counting, the TMC was leading in all the seats, Election Commission officials said.

Mizoram bypoll: MNF leads in Tuirial seat
Ruling MNF candidate K Laldawngliana was leading by 976 votes in the bypoll to the Tuirial seat in Mizoram on Tuesday morning, as per the Election Commission.
The counting of votes began at 8 am at the Kolasib Government College amid tight security.
ZPM candidate Laltlangmawi was at the second spot.

Bypolls: EC bans victory procession
The Election Commission on Tuesday prohibited victory procession after the counting of votes of bypolls ends.
"No victory procession after counting permissible. Not more than 2 persons allowed to accompany the winning candidate or his/her authorised representative receives certification of election from Returning Officer concerned," read an official statement from the Election Commission.
Counting underway for three Lok Sabha constituencies and 29 Assembly constituencies across 13 States and one Union Territory, where by-polls were held on October 30.

Karnataka bypolls: BJP leading in Sindgi, Congress ahead in Hangal
In the first couple of hours since the counting of votes began for two assembly constituencies in Karnataka that went for bypolls on October 30, the ruling BJP is leading in Sindgi, while the Congress candidate is ahead in Hangal, election officials said on Tuesday.
Ramesh Bhusanur of BJP is leading by a margin of over 15,950 votes in Sindgi by securing 41,398 votes, while his Congress' Ashok Managuli has secured 25,448 votes, so far.
In Hangal, Congress' Srinivas Mane is leading by a margin of over 1,498 votes, securing 27,244 so far, while his closest rival Shivaraj Sajjanar of BJP has secured 25,746 votes.

INLD secretary general Abhay Singh Chautala is maintaining his lead over his nearest rival Gobind Kanda of the BJP, with a margin of 2,270 votes in the Ellenabad assembly constituency in Haryana.
Counting of votes for the October 30 bypoll to the seat is in progress.
The bypoll was necessitated after Chautala in January resigned as the MLA from the seat in protest against three central farm laws and to stand in solidarity with the farmers who are protesting against these legislations since last year November.

Congress candidate Jitesh Raosaheb Antapurkar was leading over BJP's Subhash Pirajirao Sabne by 1624 votes after the first round of counting of votes in Maharashtra's Deglur (SC) Assembly bypoll, an official said on Tuesday.
Counting for the bypoll, necessitated by the death of Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar due to coronavirus, began at 8 am.

The Congress is leading in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi parliamentary seat and three assembly seats of Fatehpur, Arki and Jubbai-Kothkai, according to available trends for the bypolls.
In the Mandi parliamentary seat, late chief minister Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh of the Congress is leading with 1,316 votes over her nearest rival Kargil war hero Brigadier (retd) Khushal Thakur of the BJP.
