A nationwide indefinite strike called by the LPG distributors will halt the distribution of cylinders from tomorrow [25th February] onwards. Agencies have informed media that  distribution outlets would be closed infinitely and distribution of commercial cylinders would also be stopped. All India LPG Distributors Federation and Federation of LPG Distributors of India have called for the indefinite closed down strike. More than 13,200 distributors across the country will participate in the strike against the new set of strict norms implemented by the LPG marketing companies.

As per the norms LPG distributors have to pay penalties on various faults which they do not commit normally. Both the federations informed that the strike would be withdrawn only when the marketing companies withdraw the new conditions. The new set of  Marketing Discipline Guidelines that prescribe stringent actions and penalties, that came into force a couple of days ago should be fully withdrawn, local leaders of the federation told in a press conference today.
