The visit of Kamduni protesters to Delhi to meet the President with a plea for speedy justice was criticised today by a state minister who said there was no such thing when a teenage girl Tapasi Malik was allegedly raped by CPI(M) leaders in Singur.

Drawing an analogy between the two rapes, transport minister Madan Mitra said, "In democracy everybody has the right to protest and visit the President. But when a small girl Tapasi Malik was allegedly raped by two CPI (M) leaders, there was no candle light vigil or visit to the President."
