Maha NCC contingent returns after triumph at R-Day parade

A contingent of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from Maharashtra comprising 78 boys and 35 girls returned triumphantly from New Delhi's Republic Day camp.

Keeping up with its past performance, the Maharashtra Directorate won a rich haul of trophies and medals. It was adjudged the 'Best Directorate in Army Wing Competitions' and won a total of seven trophies, including the 'Runners-up'.

Over 2,000 cadets of 17 NCC Directorates participated in the event.

Cadet Aman Jagtap of Ahmednagar led the NCC contingent on the Rajpath during the Republic Day parade and was also awarded Commendation Card from the Director General of NCC.
 
The national NCC marching contingent had 17 boys and as many girls from Maharashtra, which was the highest from any state.

The Maharashtra contingent returned on February 1, a release said.

The cadets met Governor C Vidyasagar Rao yesterday.

They were felicitated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday.

The cadets will also be felicitated this week by Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, FOC-in-C Western Naval Command, Lt Gen R R Nimbhorkar, GOC Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area, and Maj General Subodh Kumar, ADG NCC Maharashtra, for their triumph in the Republic Day Parade.
