The judicial commission led by retired judge J A Patil and comprising former state chief secretary P Subrahamaniam had submittetd the report about six months to the government.
The commission in its interim report had earlier said that the land on which the 31-storey Adarsh building was constructed belongs to the state government and not of the Defence Ministry as claimed by the latter.
The opposition BJP today staged a walkout from the assembly in protest against the government's rejection of the report. The opposition parties raised the issue citing that the tabling of judicial commission's report on Adarsh scam was not included in today's proceedings.
The CBI had chargesheeted 13 accused, including former chief minister Ashok Chavan, for their alleged role in the illegal allotment of flats reserved for war widows and defence personnel at throwaway prices. Chavan had resigned as the chief minister for his alleged involvement in the Adarsh scam and was replaced by Prithviraj Chavan in November 2010.
This week, Maharashtra governor K Sankarnarayanan refused to grant permission to he CBI to prosecute Ashok Chavan. The former chief minister was accused of including a civilian quota for the Adarsh flats, in exchange for apartments for his own family members in that complex.
His predecessors, late Vilasrao Deshmukh and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, were also questioned by the judicial commission for clearing critical files linked to the housing society.
