Maharashtra issues guidelines on donations for drought

Those willing to contribute to state's drought mitigation efforts may deposit cheques directly to banks or district collectors offices

In order to facilitate donors to to contribute to the Chief Minister's Drought Relief Fund for 2013, the Maharashtra government has decided to deposit donor cheques directly to banks or district collectors' offices.

According to an official press statement issued here, those who wish to contribute to the Chief Minister's Drought Relief Fund may deposit cheques or bank drafts with the respective divisional commissioners, district collectors or deputy commissioners of the revenue department.

Bank drafts should be sent in the name of State Bank of India, Fort Branch, Account Number SB 32860305777, the statement said.

After the cheque is received, donors will receive a receipt from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, it said.
