Women employees of defunct Kingfisher Airlines have accused United Breweries Group Chairman Vijay Mallya of double standards by not paying local employees dues, while honouring payments to employees from foreign countries.
A letter from Kingfisher Employees Association said workers could not claim income tax refunds and also their provident fund dues as the airline had not deposited the money deducted from employees to the respective departments.
“Those people who had joined new company are not able to get tax refund as IT department adjusts it against the tax due in our account which was not submitted. We request our finance minister to resolve this issue,” women employees of the association wrote in an open letter on the occasion of Women's Day.
They accused the firm of giving out Form 16 declaring that the tax deductions for the entire 2012-13 but salaries were paid only till June 2012.
