Some 20 villages in South Kashmir were cordoned off on Thursday as thousands of security personnel were pressed into a hunt for militants believed to be present in the area. The massive operation comes after a spate of attacks on security personnel and bank robberies in the area.
However, according to the police, the operation was called off after eight hours without any arrests.
