A "fact-finding" team of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was today stopped by district authorities from visiting violence-hit Jawahar Bag, where 29 people, including an SP and an SHO, were killed during clashes between encroachers and police on June 2.
BJP District President Tejveer Singh said that the authorities prevented the six-member team, led by party's Meerut MP Rajendra Agarwal, saying that the probe by a forensic team was going on at the spot.
"It seems there is something fishy. The administration wants to hide something," he alleged and said that BJP will raise the matter in Parliament and the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
Singh claimed that the members of Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi were "followers of a big gun of Samajwadi Party and sent to seize the land".
