Gurunath Meiyappan arrived at Mumbai to appear before Mumbai police to record his statement on the alleged
spot-fixing scandal in the IPL.
Gurunath, who was in Kodaikanal, one of the hill stations in Tamil Nadu, took a private flight from Madurai, around 120 kms away from Kodaikanal, by around 5 p.m to Mumbai and he arrived at Mumbai airport at 8.08 p.m. He was joined with his lawyer P S Raman at Mumbai.
Exiting via the VIP gate in Mumbai, on his arrival, he was received by the crime branch officials who drove him to their Head Quarter in Mumbai, according to reports. He drove in his own car, while police escorted him before his vehicle.

The police are now trying to verify the veracity of Vindoo's claims. "So far, there is no definite evidence of spot-fixing against Meiyappan," police sources were quoted.
On Wednesday, Meyappan's name was all over the media after sources in the Mumbai police department have said they were probing the connection between the CSK team principal and actor Vindu Dara Singh, who was arrested on Tuesday for his connections with the betting syndicate.
