Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi led a scathing attack against the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for the present sorry state of affairs and said there has been a wide scale upsurge across the country for a change in a bid to save the “sinking boat.”
He attacked the UPA government for the present goof ups on the multi crore scam and feared that the Supreme Court’s hand may become black. He castigated the Centre for making mockery of the India’s premier investigation agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Modi in his hour long speech at the function jointly organized b the Indian Merchants’ Chamber and All India Business Council also criticized the Centre for severely affecting the federal sanctity of the country.
Speaking in a chaste Hindi, which was full of dig and sarcasm, Modi emphasized that federal sanctity needs to be protected at any cost. A large number of people from the industry, business, trade, politics besides socialite gathered to listen to Modi.
However, Modi sung a tune of “We can do it.” He said that what Gujarat with 6 crore population can achieve in last 12 years can be done in a 100 crore plus country by focusing on three crucial areas including skill, scale and speed. Besides, an impetus is needed to increase agriculture growth, expedite manufacturing and service sector.
“Gujarat has achieved a 10% growth in agriculture for a decade in contrast with 2-3% growth at the all India level. Despite lack of minerals and mines, the state has become leader in the steel production while nine out of 10 diamonds have been processed in Gujarat. The Gujarat model can certainly be implemented at the national level with the help of optimism and full of confidence,” he noted amidst thundering response from the audience.
Modi, who had come to the city after addressing election meetings in the poll bound Karnataka, further said that people-public-private participation (PPPP) model applied in Gujarat needs to be taken up at the national level to boost the development.
“The 21 st century is of the Asian countries but in such a scenario India and China are being monitored. India has every chance to outsmart China by properly harnessing youth power as we have 65% youths. Secondly, India can prosper by taking advantage of democracy. Thirdly, the justice delivery system is simple to understand especially for trade and commerce unlike Chinese. Lastly, the sill development can do wonders in India,” Modi said.
He did not forget to inform the audience that the Centre has to accept and implement the Gujarat model of skill development for the entire country.
