Terming the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as a "new hope", BJP leader Anurag Thakur today said that the former is not only popular among the party but also liked by people from "various shades" in the country.
"Modi is the most popular leader not only amongst the BJP but was also liked by the people belonging to various shades in the country," Thakur, an MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, told reporters here.
In a separate query, he said that there was no opposition of Modi in the BJP. "He is our most popular chief minister as well as leader. Why we will oppose him," the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha President said.
On the party's prime ministerial candidate, Thakur said the name of the candidate will be revealed at the proper time when the elections to Lok Sabha are announced.
