The case was registered on behalf of state government and not by Chouhan or his wife Sadhna Singh against who Mishra had made allegations.
On the other hand the Congress has intensified its attack on chief minister and dragged name of another relative of his in Madhya Pradesh public service commission examination scam and has alleged that the candidate is a close relative of the chief minister and received undue favour in the state Public Service Examinations to get through.
The MP BJP has refuted the allegations.
Chouhan on Monday had declared that he would file a defamation suit against Congress but today the case was filed only against Mishra for alleging his and his wife's involvement in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.
The Bharatiya Janata party state unit president and Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Party vice-president Prabhat Jha came forward and defended Chouhan to dismiss allegations made by Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee.
While Mishra who had made allegations that Chouhan's wife and other family members, today said he was sticking to his claims. "I will prove in the court. If he is true (chief minister) why did he not file the defamation case and asked the state government machinery to file the case." Mishra further said defamation suits are brought against individuals.
