The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will seek the support of Left parties and the Samajwadi Party (SP) for its demand for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s resignation in the wake of the recent controversy over coal allocation.

During a meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), senior leaders have decided to speak to members of Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India (CPI) and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in this regard.

“It is unlikely that Parliament will function till Monday. NDA is again going to meet on Monday and we are going to ask Mulayam Singh Yadav and Left parties to take part in the meeting so that we can devise a strategy on how to put pressure on the union government,” said a senior leader of NDA who was present at the meeting.
