The private Durbar conducted every year as part of traditional Dasara celebrations by the Mysore royal family will not take place this year. The demise of the last scion of the Yadu dynasty Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar has cast a shadow over the celebrations this year.
The fact that there will be no private Durbar was made clear by District incharge Minister V Sreenivasa Prasad here. The private Durbar was being held by the late Wadiyar in the Mysore Palace in keeping with the dynasty's tradition over a few centuries.
It has also been made clear there will be no other ceremonies relating to the Navaratri.
That were being conducted by the royal family in the Mysore Palace during the 10 days.
