Opposition members in the Maharashtra Legislative Council on Thursday staged a walkout over 'unsatisfactory' reply from the minister of state for health Fauzia Khan on the occurrence of TDR and XDR types of tuberculosis cases.

Opposition legislators, including Vinod Tawade (BJP), Diwakar Raote (Shiv Sena) and Dr Deepak Sawant, among others took Khan to task as she could not give a satisfactory reply during question hour on the TDR-XDR tuberculosis cases.

Clarifying that there are no Totally Drug Resistant (TDR) TB cases in the state, Khan said she had not received a report of the Central team of the Union Health Ministry which had visited the city in January, after the first case of Extensively Drug Resistant (XDR) TB case was reported.

Congress member Ulhas Pawar sought the minister's reply if the central team has given any written explanation on the issue.
