Xi Jinping calls for upholding Chinese Communist Party leadership as Parliament ends annual session
As he began his unprecedented 3rd five-year term as President and head of the military, Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday called for upholding the leadership of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) headed by him.
Speaking at the closure of the annual session of the Chinese legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), Xi stressed upholding the leadership of the CPC and the centralised, unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the main policy body of the party.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said he was certain that the BJP will win all five Lok Sabha seats in the state in the 2024 General Elections and the party's focus is only on increasing the winning margin.
Speaking at the Namo App Virtual Meet here on Sunday, Dhami said he has no doubt that the BJP will romp to power just as it did in 2014 and 2019.

Oscars 2023: 'All Quiet on the Western Front' takes home trophy for Best International Feature Film
The German anti-war film 'All Quiet on the Western Front' is leading the Oscars as it has won four awards so far at the ongoing 95th edition of the Academy Awards. The film, directed by Edward Berger, was feted with the Best International Feature Film honour in addition to Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Production Design.
It defeated films like 'Argentina, 1985', 'EO', 'The Quiet Girl' and 'Close'.

The electrifying performance of the Telugu track "Naatu Naatu" by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava at the Academy Awards stage brought the Dolby Theatre to life with dancers of all ethnicities acing the hook step of the international music sensation from "RRR".
The performance, which received a standing ovation, was introduced by Hindi cinema star Deepika Padukone, who had to pause at least thrice in between owing to the loud cheers from the A-list audience.
