Pakistan Army on Thursday violated a ceasefire agreement and resorted to indiscriminate firing at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

The police said the firing took place at Danesh and Lakshmi posts in Naugam sector.

"Indian troops are effectively retaliating Pakistani firing. Exchanges are still going on in the area," the police added.
