The Election Commission has made it mandatory for candidates using helicopters to obtain permission of the authorities concerned 24 hours in advance.
They have to obtain permission from the ATC Hubli for helicopters landings at the Hubli Airport. Those using private lands for landing helicopters have to provide the land ownership document and obtain a 'no objection certificate' (NOC) from the owner for landing/parking, certificate from the executive engineer PWD about the suitability of the land in case of private helipad.
They also have to submit a copy of the receipt of the payment of landing/take off charges to PWD and fire engine charges to fire force. Besides submitting the receipt copies of payment of 'terminal building facilities' charges to PWD was also mandatory, he said.

The candidates have to open such accounts and they have to credit Over Rs 20,000 into this account through the cheque at least one day before filing of the nomination papers and submit details of the account while filing nomination papers.
About the election preparations, DC Sameer Shukla said, the process of appointment of returning officers (RO) and the assistant returning officers had been completed.
The administration has identified 304 hyper-sensitive and 307 sensitive booths in the district so far and this number may have to be revised based on the prevailing conditions later. The 19 companies of Central Paramilitary Force would be deployed in the district for the election-related duties. Alongside, the police and home guard too would be deployed. The companies have started landing in the district, he said.
About the photo electoral role, he said, of over 1.27 million voters in the district, the photos of 24,864 voters did not appear on the electoral rolls. Of these voters, the photos of 3,981 have been collected, he said.
