Passport Seva Kendras soon in all districts: Jitendra Singh

He said a passport kendra would be set up in Jammu for which land has been identified and work will be started soon

Union minister Jitendra Singh said today that the Union government would soon open Post Office Passport Seva Kendras in all the districts across the country.

Singh said two such kendras have been opened in Kargil and Udhampur, and soon two more would be opened in Kathua and Baramulla.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a Passport Adalat-cum Mela in Jammu, he said the 'adalats' were being organised to resolve grievances and ensure transparency.

He said a passport kendra would be set up in Jammu for which land has been identified and work will be started soon.

Regional Passport Officer Vimarsh Aryan said the Passport Adalat was organised to clear applications pending.
 
The Seva Kendra registered 240 applications today and has issued more than 37,000 passports this year, Aryan said.
