Around 53,000 petrol pumps in the country will go for a shut down on November 3 and 15, to press for their various demands including change of formula for setting dealers commission and a review on ethanol blending program by the government.

In a statement to the media, All India Petroleum Dealers Association (AIPDA) said on Monday that it wants the government to pay heed to demands like sorting out problems related to ethanol blending and adoption of proper blending methodology with safeguards for dealers.

"We also want change of dealers commission formula. Initially, we will go for a blackout for 15 mins between 7-7.15 pm on October 19 and 26. Even after that, if the government is not ready to pay heed to our demands, we are going to go for the nation-wide strike," Ajay Bansal, President, AIPDA, said.
