PM Modi wishes Jayalalithaa a speedy recovery

The Tamil Nadu chief minister was admitted with fever and dehydration on Thursday night

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a bouquet of flowers and a letter to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, wishing speedy recovery. She was admitted in a private hospital here in Chennai with fever and dehydration.

Sixty-eight-year-old Jayalalithaa, who is the general secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), has been admitted at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.

She has no fever now and is taking normal diet, said Subbiah Viswanathan, Chief Operating Officer of the hospitals in a release issued at 1 pm, on Friday. The Chief Minister is under observation, .

The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the kind gesture, said a release issued by the State government. She also thanked Vidyasagar Rao, Governor of Tamil Nadu who sent a bouquet of flowers with a note wishing speedy recovery and good health to her.

 

Meanwhile, the state ministers and hundreds of party men thronged the hospital after hearing that their leader has been admitted there.

She has been busy with various events including the inauguration of the second stretch of Chennai Metro Rail and opening the solar power project of Adani Group, in the last few days.
